Website Accessibility Efforts

The Village of Pocahontas considers ADA compliance a priority. We are dedicated to making our website and other communications accessible to all, including those with disabilities.

Our efforts include:

ensuring all site content is navigable via keyboard
ensuring site navigation is streamlined, and able to be bypassed if wanted
proper formatting of web pages so that screen readers can reliably navigate content
all visual content such as images and infographics have alternate text
text and visual content contrast is WCAG AA complaint
PDF and other related content use text rather than images

We regularly review and improve all website content using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, and other applicable guidelines. We also consult as needed with those who need applicable accessibility accommodations.
